Other Artists represented by the Gallery:

Fernando Botero
Biography : One of latin america's most famous and popular living artists, Fernando Botero is a representational painter and sculptor whose signature style is characterized by figures with dis-proportioned configurations from the under dimension to the over scaled in the same figure, or “fat figures” as the artist has referred to them in the past. Exhibition : In the past, Botero has become involved in much publicized and acclaimed international projects, such as the exhibition of his large scale, monumental sculptures for highly visible public spaces in major worldwide capitals like Paris (Champs Elysées, 1992), New York (Park Avenue, 1993) and Madrid (Paseo del Prado, 1994). He has also developed work in response to very specific socio-economic and political circumstances as well as reinterpreting traditional themes like representations of the female figure, the family, or maternity. Detailed Description :
Working in relative isolation from the stylistic trends of the art world, he has developed over time his aesthetic propositions intuitively, in dialogue with tradition and contemporary reality. Often suggesting some form of social and political criticism. His oeuvre confronts the viewer in this sense with a good dose of irony and humor. Vero Dalla
Biography : Vero Dalla was born in France in 1970 and currently lives and works in New York City. Exhibition : Vero Dalla has work in private collections in twenty different countries, through exhibitions in Monaco, Lyon, Paris, Venice, Verona and many more. One of her first sales in NYC was auctioned by Christie’s during an art conference organized by the private bank Meeschaert. Shortly thereafter she exhibited at venues like Gallery 32 Fine Art in Chelsea (New York, 2013) and The Broome Hotel in Soho (New York, 2014). Detailed Description :
The artist works with pure, dry pigments which she mixes directly with acrylic -most often natural pigments like bone black or wine black. She is interested in exploring the variety of black present in nature. She associates this endless variety in turn to internalized feelings, sentiments and resonances which, according to the artist, reach psychedelic intensities. Instead of surface texture, or the single point collision with flat black, Vero dives into the multilayered endless depth. Ambience light, the passing of day, also have its corresponding modelling effect on the surface reading of such delicate and fleeting hues.

Janklo
Biography : Janklo is a young French artist born and raised in a family of artists. Detailed Description :
His work, clever and seductive, attempts to denounce with minimal means some of the inherent contradictions of consumer society. An established signature style is a mark of excellence effective in informing and influencing attitudes, values, and opinions. It is at the heart of such an industry of desire that Janklo throws critical darts through his literally straightforward, and yet metaphoric Vacuity Boxes. Suspended, as if floating in space, the signature ribbons buried in acrylic transcend. Pop-Voila! The medium monumentalizes what it also denounces in a public display for all to marvel and behold. There is a resulting magic. It contrast to the sheer physicality of the almost invisible materials. And both, artistic gesture and brand signature, join in an embrace of refracted and reflected lights that mimic our quest for evanescent happiness.

Anton Momberg
Biography : Anton Momberg is considered to be one of South Africa’s finest realist sculptors. He was born in 1951 in Pietersburg, Northern Transvaal. Exhibition : Momberg has participated in numerous group exhibitions at Everard Read, Cape Town and showcased as part of regular group exhibitions in Port Elizabeth since 1980. 2016 Opening Gallery Group Exhibition, CIRCA Gallery, London, UK 2015 Bronze, Steel and Stone, Group Exhibition, Mount Nelson and Everard Read, Cape Town, South Africa 2011 5th Anniversary, Group Exhibition, Everard Read Gallery, Cape Town, South Africa 2009 View From the South, Group Exhibition, Everard Read Gallery, Cape Town, South Africa 2002 Group Show, Everard Read Gallery, Johannesburg, South Africa 1999 Art London, Group Show, London, UK 1995 Cape Town Salon, Cape Town, South Africa 1994 Group Show, Belville Art Society, South Africa 1991 Cape Town Triennial, Cape Town, South Africa 1990 Two Man Exhibition, South African Art Society, Pretoria, South Africa 1988 Cape Town Triennial, Cape Town, South Africa Detailed Description :
Characterized by a forceful classicism, his sculptural production has focused mainly on the female nude, often in marble dust and resin to imbue his figures with an otherworldly quality. He is equally well reputed for his portraits of historical figures. This is the case, for example, of the immaculate full-length bronze portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. Critics consider this fine portrait a Momberg masterpiece at its best, praising, for example, an ephemeral, unearthly quality that echoes the artist’s “dedication to absolute truth”. Editions of this monumental, public sculpture can be seen, for example, in the National Gallery and at the King George VI gallery in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The meticulous nature of Momberg’s work and the fact that he casts them himself means that he has at best produced one new sculpture a year over the last ten years, a remarkable and unique commitment to quality in an age of mass production.

Cecile Plaisance took her first Barbie dolls photographs and attempted to capture into meaning the world around her. She has continued since taking pictures privately to pursue her longstanding inquiry of beauty, set in light of an overriding concern for how it is addressed in terms of a fleeting utility, constantly re-adapted and reinterpreted in various degrees of isolation, solidarity and power relations. One usually finds in her work a mixture of inquisitive voyeurism and humor, a refined mixture of deceit, fragility and innocence that makes us instantly relate to her language, and understand we are all heirs of our past and responsible for our future actions.
